Wandering through the hidden folds of rural China,
into overlooked valleys and poetic horizons,
where humble villages and quiet lives
shape landscapes as vivid as paintings,
and every encounter feels like
stepping gently into another world.
BRAZIL
/ The Celebration of
Unknown Forces
Brazil resists a single visit. Each return reveals another layer — another rhythm, another light, another way of being together. These photographs are gathered from multiple journeys through a country of extraordinary heart and fathomless.
One of the quiet pleasures of travel is finding a temporary home — sometimes carefully chosen, sometimes stumbled upon. Over the years: deep nature, quiet villages, places that feel completely foreign. I love that sensation of being slightly misplaced. The beauty of it all is that it's temporary.
Beneath the traffic and construction that now marks its southern coast, something ancient persists — a culture so invested in ritual that ceremony doesn't punctuate daily life, it is daily life. The offerings, the processions, the gamelan rising without warning — these are acts of devotion repeated across seasons with an artistic precision that quietly overwhelms. Twenty years can pass. Bali will still be doing this.
